Michigan’s electric cooperatives and municipal utilities face growing risks from ice, wind, wildfire, and other events that can cause catastrophic infrastructure damage. When recovery requires federal assistance, understanding FEMA’s complex requirements is critical to securing funding and protecting it from costly denials or claw backs.
This two-day seminar will help cooperative and utility leaders navigate the federal disaster recovery process with greater confidence.

Instruction will be provided by Baker Donelson, a national law firm with deep experience in FEMA Public Assistance, disaster recovery, grant compliance, and audit support.
For nearly two decades, the firm has advised state and local agencies on FEMA-funded recovery efforts, including grant administration, regulatory guidance, documentation, appeals, and audit response.
