The NRECA Supervisory Certificate program teaches the core competencies required of supervisors in the areas of leadership, communication and administrative skills.The curriculum, developed by NRECA, is based on the set of supervisory competencies identified by experienced cooperative supervisors and CEOs. Participants who complete all nine tracks earn a supervisory certificate.

Courses

Motivation can lift employees’ level of performance, increase job satisfaction, and promote teamwork. This course will explore the co-op supervisor’s role, value and rewards in motivation, including a self-evaluation tool to help identify motivational strengths and weaknesses.
This course focuses on the co-op supervisor’s role in compensation and benefits, training and development, employee and labor relations and interviewing.
This course introduces effective activities (including disciplinary action) that can be used to help create and meet development goals that benefit both the individual and co-op. Participants gain confidence in their daily performance management and ready to conduct the next performance appraisal.
This course addresses the health and safety rules and regulations for which supervisors are responsible, teaches ways to stay up-to-date on OSHA’s training requirements and standards, includes tools to enforce the standards (including discipline), and provides additional resources to assist with health and safety responsibilities.

NOTE: Participants must have completed prerequisite courses (offered in February 2014, or on their own) to register.
