This third course in the Utility Safety Basics for Supervisors series is designed to review the importance of completing a good, factual accident investigation. This course will address basic accident investigation techniques and will include classroom RCA exercises. Topics covered in this session include:
- Supervisors role before, during and after an incident
- Basic incident prevention strategies
- A systematic investigation process
- Determining direct, contributing and root causes
- Basic Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques
- Investigation techniques
- Developing and writing factual reports
- Workers comp and OSHA recordable accidents
- Preventing reoccurrence
