It’s time to submit entries for MECA’s two Good Neighbor Watch awards that recognize outstanding co-op employees for their contributions and commitment to the co-op principle of “Concern for Community.”

The Co-op Community Service Award recognizes outstanding co-op employees for their volunteer service and commitment to the principle of “Concern for Community.” Much of the co-ops’ long history in providing outstanding community leadership is accomplished through employee efforts.

The Good Neighbor Watch Award recognizes co-op employees who were involved with an emergency situation and provided assistance to people in the community during their workday.

The entry deadline is March 20, and winners will receive $100 and be honored during MECA’s annual meeting March 31-April 2 in Grand Rapids. Nominations for either award may be made by any Michigan electric co-op employee, and guidelines and applications are available online at
