If you know of a good teenager who would enjoy traveling and meeting other teens from Michigan and other states, tell them about the fun youth programs sponsored by Michigan’s nine electric co-ops. He or she could even be selected to participate in a free trip to Washington, D.C.!

It’s not too late for teens whose families belong to an electric co-op to apply for the 2015 Youth Leadership Summit (YLS), April 22-24, at SpringHill Camp in Evart.

YLS, presented is a high-energy, interactive experience designed to help young people grow as leaders. High school sophomores and juniors from co-op service areas are invited to take their team-building skills to the next level at this unique three-day event. The camp is just south of Cadillac on 515 acres of forest and rolling hills.

Teens who attend YLS will be considered for a once-in-a-lifetime Washington, D.C., trip with the national Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in June. Applications must be received by March 20, 2015, for consideration. For more information or to apply online, visit the YLS website
