Laverne Hansen, a 27-year member of the HomeWorks Tri-County Electric board of directors, is retiring, but there will still be a Hansen serving on the Co-op’s board.

Kimber Hansen will be replacing his father, Laverne, as the new District 4 director.

Kimber is a farmer, responsible for the daily running of the family farm near Edmore, and has been a HomeWorks member since 1993. He also serves on another local board. “I have served on the Montcalm County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, a grassroots organization much like a co-op,” Kimber says. “With this experience, I feel I am able to contribute to bringing safe and affordable power to the members of HomeWorks Tri-County Electric in the future.”

Laverne has served on the board since 1987, and was secretary-treasurer for nearly that entire time. He also represented Tri-County Electric on the Wolverine Power Cooperative board for five two-year terms, and was a leader in co-op board education, completing the Credentialed Cooperative Director certificate, then the advanced Board Leadership program.
